Today, our Grade 12 geography students were extremely fortunate to receive a talk from Dr Debra Enzenbacker from the Department of Tourism at Sultan Qaboos University. The talk entitled 'towards achieving sustainable tourism in Oman' complimented our unit on Leisure and Tourism, focusing on Oman's tourism product, challenges and opportunities of the tourism industry and ways forward to achieve sustainability. It provided us with an excellent opportunity to apply some of the concepts we had learned in class to our own host nation and one in which we all regularly participate as domestic tourists. I hope students found it as interesting as I did.
