Happy Valentines Day - but not everywhere?

Happy Valentines Day everyone! Or is it? How has globalisation caused the spread of festivals such as Valentines Day? Where did it originate and how has it spread so widely?

Some countries are now rejecting Valentines Day and this year it has been banned by Pakistan completely. Is this an example of a rejection of globalisation?
