What a difference a fridge makes!

Imagine not owning a fridge or freezer! Especially living somewhere as hot as Oman. What would life be like - disease ridden? Unpleasant food? No meat, no fish? Warm water to drink?

Yet 25% of people globally do not own a fridge. Here is an interesting article about a man named Santosh Chowdhury in India who is the first man in his village of 200 people to buy a fridge! Some people dream of a new TV while people in the UK and USA have been queuing for the new IPhone 6 but Santosh has spent the last 10 years dreaming of owning a fridge.

The event was so exciting that a religious ceremony was held to bless the fridge. I expect Santosh is going to be a very popular man in his community for quite some time.
