Happy International Migrants Day!

In 2000, the UN introduced International Migrants Day on 18th December. The aim of the day is to raise awareness of the importance of the protection of human rights of all legal migrant workers and their families. So as you are living in a country where over 75% of the working population are migrants, and many of your are migrants yourselves, use today to think about some of the issues we have studied on the causes and impacts of international migrants and whether you believe that the UN is succeeding in its mission in human rights protection. The news article below gives an interesting summary of 5 places with the highest number of migrants (including the UAE) and some information on some of the issues there.
